Grand Canyon National Park – South Rim

Tusayan, Arizona

No trip to Arizona is complete without a trip to the Grand Canyon, so we spent the last night of our trip in Flagstaff, Arizona, and drove two hours to the Grand Canyon South Rim in Tusayan, Arizona, arriving around 1:00 p.m. There was significant traffic at the entrance to the National Park, and we spent 30 minutes sitting in line trying to access the left-most entry lane which is for pass holders. Once in the park, there was ample parking  since many people were coming and going. We were able to easily find parking and walk down to the South Rim Trail to take photos at all of the overlooks. We spent a few hours on the South Rim Trail enjoying the views and taking photos, and we spent a short time in the gift shop. The Grand Canyon worked out well for our group to enjoy a low key day prior to driving 3.5 hours back to Phoenix in the late afternoon to catch our red-eye flight back to Philadelphia.
